Arctic and Fabulous Film Festival in Jyväskylä from November 13th to November 16th

Festival will take place at Kampus Kino/Ilokivi (adress Keskussairaalantie 2). This year is the tenth anniversary of the Arctic & Fabulous Film Festival and it is celebrated in an arctic atmosphere with Nordic quality movies.

House Games is home exhibition of artist Anna Ruth and Juho Jäppinen. It will be on a show at address Puistokatu 19 A 17, and it is open at the evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Live Herring will visit at the exhibition on Wed. Nov 19th at 6 p.m. with Arctic and Fabulous Film Festival. Welcome!

Live Herring was nominated as regional artist

The Arts Council of Central Finland nominated Live Herring working group (Päivi Hintsanen, Ilkka Kuukka and Soile Ollikainen) as regional artist of film and media-art from the beginning of year 2009.

Portraits are from “Wish You Were There?” installation of Tomi Knuutila which is part of the Live Herring ‘08 exhibition.

Artist Antti Laitinen realized his Walk the Line -project in city of Jyväskylä as online live performance. He walked his portrait with the help of a satellite recorder (GPS) according a map of the city. It was possible to follow performance in live in internet. Antti walked all together 28,6 km and it took him 4 hours and 50 minutes! You can view completed portrait here.

He will now print these images: the actual map with the picture and the drawing of the path that he has walked. The printed portraits will be revealed at the opening of the exhibition on Wednesday October 29^that 6 p.m. at Jyväskylä Art Museum, Holvi (Kauppaktu 23). Welcome! In the Live Herring ´08 exhibition, several previous portraits will be exhibited in addition to the portrait realized in Jyväskylä.

Artist Antti Laitinen continues his Walk the Line art project as a live performance on October 27th, 2008.

Live Herring has invited artist Antti Laitinen to Jyväskylä (Finland) to continue his art project Walk the Line. In Jyväskylä Laitinen will realize this self-portrait for the first time as a live performance.

The performance will start on October 27th, 2008 at 12 p.m. Helsinki time (gmt +02:00) / 10 a.m. London time (gmt +00:00) and it can be followed on the internet. Performance will last around four hours. The link for this performance will be announced later on the Live Herring website.
